Introduction

Thanks for showing an interest in working with us at Magenta. We’d like you to see your application as your first project with us. The brief? Convince us you’re the right person for the job. We work on a wide variety of projects here and we’re looking for someone with versatility to join us. Someone who can adapt their styles to suit client briefs and brand guidelines.

The project?

We’d love you to create a small suite of social media content for an existing passion project of ours, PIP’s.

PIP’s was a passion project our creative team collaborated on initially in 2020 when the pandemic struck and the team decided to test their collective design, animation and CGI skills while working remotely. The idea was to brief ourselves to come up with a brand and a suite of content to promote a fictional product. And so, PIP’s was born. The name PIP’s stemmed, simply from the two P’s resembling a set of ear buds. Our designers created a set of characters based on certain persona’s that the brand PIP’s could use to sell to their ‘target audience’.

The characters we have so far are the commuter, the influencer, the skater girl and the zen yoga lover. Each of these characters have their own reason for needing a set of PIP’s. We’d love you to create a new character and complimentary colour pallete for the PIP’s brand and then use that character to design a set of social media posts to promote the product.

Deliverables

• 1x character design/illustration, with a complimentary colour pallete.
• 1x landscape ad/poster including the character, product and some promotional messaging.
• 1x vertical carousel post for Instagram, using the character and promotional messaging.
