We were very excited to be asked to capture some photography content at this fabulous hotel in St Davids for a number of reasons; firstly we LOVE West Wales and secondly we LOVE great art! Not to mention the job included a stay at a fabulous, luxury hotel, which was a chance for a January get away!
Twr y Felin is part of the Retreats Group that also owns the stunning Roch Castle and Penrhiw Hotel in St Davids Pembrokeshire. Its latest addition to the Retreat Group was previously a landmarked windmill tower, now transformed into a contemporary art hotel, featuring over 100 original artworks. Each piece was commissioned especially to represent Pembrokeshire and St Davids peninsula by twelve International artists.
The atmosphere is relaxed, it has an elegant and contemporary style, and although light is scarce (to add to the atmosphere) the paintings light up the walls and make the place feel alive. Each room has the feel of a small art gallery and there’s an upper tower suite, which covers three floors of the 1806 windmill. It goes without saying that the restaurant was fantastic with an exceptional menu however what was most lovely was the staff, the service and the wonderfully warm Welsh welcome we received and made our stay!
