Planning is essential to any project. We begin kicking off with research, inspiration and mood boards; combining our collective skills and bouncing ideas around to create a core brand narrative. We then focus on brainstorming key messages that we want to portray in our animations before lifting the pencil. The next step is character development and illustration style – where the ideas come alive! Here, custom characters are built from early sketches and transformed into awesome illustrations, that are later animated to create engaging promotional content, as well as creating an overall brand look – depicting the product through a logomark.
Next, the focus was on CGI and Sound Design; combining illustration, 2D and 3D animation to help bring the project to life. We take time transforming sketches and drawings into moving characters and personalities. Meanwhile, our CGI team focus on building the product and packaging, building on a ‘wire frame’ to create realistic imagery that can be used to represent the product. And finally: Sound Design – an important part of the project that holistically brings the project to life. For PIPS, we decided that a combination of cut music tracks coupled with SFX was the way to go.
